Thank you for using QuitNic. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting any personal data you provide. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our app.
2. Information We Collect
QuitNic is designed with privacy in mind. Most personal information you enter in the app—such as your quit date, usage frequency, and nicotine product type—is stored only on your device. We do not collect or store this information on our servers.
We automatically collect anonymous analytics data to understand how the app is used. This includes which features are used most often, app performance metrics, and crash reports. This data cannot be linked to you and is used solely to improve the app experience.
If you use the friends functionality, we store your display name, avatar, progress data, and friends list in our Supabase database to enable social features and progress sharing with your friends.
3. Use of Data
The app uses your local data—such as your quit progress and health milestones—only within the app itself to provide feedback and tracking. Most of this data is not transmitted or stored externally.
Anonymous analytics data is automatically collected and used exclusively to help us identify bugs, improve performance, and enhance the user experience.
Friends functionality data (display name, avatar, progress, friends list) is stored in Supabase to enable social features and allow you to share progress with friends and see their achievements.
4. Data Storage
Most personal information remains entirely on your device. Anonymous analytics data is automatically collected and stored securely in an anonymous format.
If you use the friends functionality, your display name, avatar, progress data, and friends list are stored in our Supabase database to enable social features. This data is necessary for the friends functionality to work properly.
5. Analytics
Anonymous analytics are automatically collected to help us improve the app. The data collected is entirely anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. This includes app usage patterns, feature interactions, performance metrics, and crash reports. No personal information is included in analytics data.
6. Your Rights and Control
You have control over your personal data. You can delete all local app data simply by uninstalling the app. You may also reset your progress within the app at any time.
If you use the friends functionality, you can delete your social profile and friends data by contacting us. Anonymous analytics data cannot be deleted as it is not linked to your identity.
7. Data Security
Most of your data never leaves your device. Anonymous analytics data is anonymized and encrypted during transmission and storage using industry-standard security measures.
Friends functionality data stored in Supabase is protected with encryption in transit and at rest, with access controls and security measures in place to protect your information.
8. Children's Privacy
QuitNic is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as needed. Any changes will be posted in the app or on our website, and the effective date will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Data Retention
Most personal data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics data is retained by our analytics provider, PostHog, in accordance with their privacy policy.
Friends functionality data stored in Supabase is retained until you request deletion or delete your account. This data is necessary for the social features to function properly.
13. Third-Party Services
QuitNic interacts with third-party services as part of its functionality. These include:
- PostHog – for anonymous analytics (automatically collected)
- Supabase – for friends functionality data storage (display name, avatar, progress, friends list)
- Superwall – for handling in-app purchases and subscription management
- Expo Notifications – for local and push notifications
- App Store / Google Play – for app distribution and payments

14. Your Choices
You can reset your local progress data within the app at any time, or delete the app to remove all locally stored data. For friends functionality data stored in Supabase, you can contact us to request deletion of your social profile and associated data.
